In Spring 2006 I was asked to explore new ways of listening and interfacing with the Sonic Garden, a sound experience design project realized by the environmental design team Giardino Sonoro.
Through various listening modes and field recordings I documented my walks through the sonic garden as well as my reactions to the acoustic environment designed by artist Lorenzo Brusci and the Giardino Sonoro team. The aims of SoundWalkScapes were to investigate the power of sound diffusion to affect behaviours, body postures and movements as well as to develope a set of site specific listening instructions for the visitors of the garden.
SoundWalkScapes has been exhibited at, amongst others, Festival della Creatività , Florence – Italy; and Digital Art Weeks, Basel – Switzerland.
