Ultras Karaoke is the karaoke version of a series of football supporters’ chants. The supporters’ lyrics are sung over karaoke-style instrumental tracks of the original songs on which the chants are based.

In the tape release of the project, the chants are performed by individual voices rather than by a group, as typically heard in football stadiums. The choice to use close-up (female) voices instead of a (male) choir, combined with playful karaoke-style reinterpretations of the music, makes the ultras’ chants sound more like lullabies and love songs. This approach ironically reveals the passionate relationship between supporters and their team.
