We Speak the Air We Breathe (2021)
Vacant building / Brasserie Atlas
Brussels, Belgium
Jun.30, 2021
A choreographed sequence of white noise demonstrates how sound propagates and interacts in relation to the architecture of the chosen location.
The title of the work refers to the condition of interdependence that defines all relationships. Streams of white noise are modified by the physical space they encounter as they propagate. As we breathe the air, we speak — drawing it inward into our bodies and exhaling it outward from our lungs back into the surrounding space.
